Visa Information

To attend the 3rd International Summit on Women Health and Reproductive System in Venice, Italy (August 24–25, 2026), it is important to be aware of the visa requirements depending on your nationality and the purpose of your visit.

1. Schengen Visa (Short-Stay Visa – Type C)

Most international delegates will require a Schengen Short-Stay Visa (Type C) to attend the conference. This visa permits stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period for purposes such as attending conferences, professional meetings, or tourism.

2. Visa-Free Entry

Nationals of Schengen member states, EU/EEA countries, and several visa-exempt countries (including the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, etc.) can travel to Italy for short stays (up to 90 days) without requiring a visa. However, starting mid-2025, travelers from visa-exempt countries will need to apply for ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) before entering the Schengen Zone.

3. ETIAS (from 2025 onwards)

ETIAS will be mandatory for travelers from visa-exempt countries. The authorization will allow multiple short visits across Schengen countries, including Italy, for business (such as conferences), tourism, or family visits.

Required Documentation (general guidelines):

  • Valid Passport – with at least 3 months validity beyond your intended stay and at least 2 blank pages.

  • Apply Early – Visa processing may take 15–30 days. Begin your application at least 2–3 months in advance.
  • Invitation Letter – Request an official invitation letter from the organizers after completing your registration.
  • Use Your Visa Wisely – A Schengen Visa/ETIAS also allows you to explore other European countries (France, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, etc.) during your visit.
  • Check Official Sources – Always confirm the latest visa requirements with the Italian Embassy/Consulate or visit the official website of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
